About the Examination

The Supplementary Examination is conducted every year during June–July as per the Academic Calendar. It provides an opportunity to eligible students who registered for a regular-semester course but received an F grade.

Supplementary examination is conducted for students awarded an F (Fail) grade in a course. Improvement is conducted for a student who has passed all the requisite courses of a programme but fails to secure the minimum CGPI for the award of degree, as per applicable Ordinances.

Max courses allowed: 10

Fee: ₹ 500 per course (non-refundable)

Payment: SBI Collect → Educational Institutes → NIT Hamirpur → Supplementary Fee

Instructions
  1. Register / log in using your mobile number.
  2. You need to fill only one application form for all courses (max. 10). There is only one application form is permitted per Roll Number.
  3. Pay the total fee in one instance via SBI Collect and save the PDF receipt.
  4. Fill the form carefully — all errors are the student's responsibility.
  5. Fill up all courses (max. 10) with its exact codes and titles as in the gradesheet.
  6. Keep ready with you photo, signature, fee receipt, and gradesheet. Fee receipt and gradesheet must be PDF; photo and signature may be PNG/JPG where applicable. Photo, signature, and fee receipt must be 500 KB or smaller. Download gradesheet from results.nith.ac.in
  7. Submit before the deadline (17th June 2026) — late applications are not accepted.

  • Eligibility & Courses
  • Who is eligible to apply for the Supplementary examination?
    Students who have been awarded an F (Fail) grade in one or more courses and are not debarred from supplementary examination.
  • Who is eligible to apply for the Improvement examination?
    A student who has passed all the requisite courses of a programme but fails to score the minimum requisite CGPI for the award of degree (below 5 for UG / below 6 for PG) may be allowed to improve, as per applicable Ordinances.
  • Can I apply for both Supplementary and Improvement courses in one form?
    No. Each application is of a single type — either Supplementary or Improvement.
  • Is there a limit on the number of courses I can apply for?
    Yes, a maximum of 10 courses per application is permitted. Single application is to be filled in one instance for all courses.
  • Fee & Payment
  • How do I pay the examination fee?
    Pay through SBI Collect: go to SBI Collect → Educational Institutes → NIT Hamirpur → Supplementary Fee. The fee is ₹ 500 per course. After payment, download the PDF receipt — you will need to upload it with your application.
  • I completed the SBI Collect payment but did not save the receipt. What should I do?
    Log in to SBI Collect with the same credentials and navigate to Payment History to download a duplicate receipt. Ensure that the fee receipt contains the date, receipt number, roll number, and amount.
  • Is the examination fee refundable if my application is rejected?
    No. The examination fee is non-refundable under any circumstances once paid, including cases of application rejection or ineligibility found during verification.
  • Document Upload & Gradesheet Validation
  • My gradesheet is failing validation. What should I check?
    Common reasons for gradesheet validation failure:
    • The file exceeds the allowed size. Photo, signature, and fee receipt must be 500 KB or smaller.
    • The file is not in an accepted format — only PDF is supported for the result / gradesheet.
    • The gradesheet is password-protected or corrupted. Open and re-save it without a password.
  • What file formats and sizes are accepted for uploads?
    Gradesheet/result and fee receipt must be uploaded as PDF. Photo and signature may be PNG or JPG. Photo, signature, and fee receipt must not exceed 500 KB.
  • My photo or signature upload is being rejected. What do I do?
    Ensure your photo is a recent passport-size image with a plain white or light background (JPG/PNG, ≤ 500 KB). The signature must be on white paper, scanned or photographed clearly (JPG/PNG, ≤ 500 KB). Avoid shadows, blur, or heavy compression. If the file size exceeds the limit, resize it using any image editor before uploading.
  • Filling & Submitting the Form
  • Can I edit my application after submission?
    Once submitted, the form cannot be edited directly by the student.
  • Technical Errors
  • What is my login ID and password?
    Login ID: Your registered mobile number. Password: The password you created at the time of registration.
  • I received a "500 Internal Server Error" or the page crashed during submission. What do I do?
    A server error during submission means the request did not complete. Do not submit again immediately — first log in to see if an Application ID was generated. If no application was created, wait a few minutes and retry.
  • My mobile number is already registered but I cannot log in.
    Use the Forgot Password link on the login page to reset your password via OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
  • The page is loading very slowly or some parts are not displaying correctly.
    Try the following in order: (1) Hard-refresh the page (Ctrl+Shift+R or Cmd+Shift+R on Mac). (2) Clear your browser cache and cookies. (3) Use a different browser (Chrome or Firefox recommended). (4) Disable browser extensions, especially ad-blockers. If the issue continues, try from a different network or device.
  • After Submission
  • I submitted my application but did not receive an Application ID or confirmation SMS.
    Log in to the Student Portal — your Application ID and status are visible on the dashboard. If no application appears, it may not have been saved; contact opyadav@nith.ac.in with your roll number and submission date.
  • How do I know if my application has been verified by the department?
    Log in to the Student Portal and check the status shown against your Application ID. Status will update to Verified once the parent department verifies and FI approves your application.
